Judo in Australia

Sport Lived can arrange for you to participate in a judo programme in Australia.  We arrange for people join judo club’s in all the main Australian cities for between March - August.  We also run an 12 week judo programme between March and June and an 8 week programme to Brisbane during July and August ideal for university students or those not taking a gap year.  As well as having several excellent judo clubs, Brisbane has an excellent climate throughout the year so you’re guaranteed lots of sunshine whenever you chose to visit.

All of the judo clubs we have affiliations with in Australia run classes for beginners, advanced and masters and participate in all levels of competition, from nationals to state and local competitions.  Most people have 2-3 judo classes per week and participate in tournaments and competitions at the weekends. 

Whilst in Australia you will live with other Sport Lived participants in 4 star city centre apartments.  Most people stay in 2 bedroom apartments and everyone lives in the same complex providing a ready made group of friends as soon as you arrive.  Living in city means you’re near nightlife, places where you can work and close to public transport so it’s easy for you to get to your club. 

Sport Lived employs programme co-ordinators in each city in Australia.  Our staff will show you how to travel from your accommodation to your club, provide assistance in finding work and generally help you to get settled in your new home city.  They also organise regular social events including introductory drinks, nights out at top sporting events and beach BBQs.

You will receive a hand book which has lots of useful information e.g. how to open a bank account, get a mobile phone, apply for a tax file number etc.  These are distributed at the pre departure briefing which is held approximately 6 weeks prior to your departure
