A unique opportunity to experience the excitement of rowing in Argentina. You’ll train regularly and compete in regattas plus our pre-planned activities introduce the sights, sounds and tastes of Argentina.

You’ll be based at a local Argentine rowing club, training and racing with the locals. Join in with club social events to integrate into club life and experience Argentine culture first hand.
You will live in Argentina’s third city, Rosario, a lively, friendly city located around 180 miles north-west of Buenos Airies. Rowing clubs are based around the Paraná river where you’ll join a boat club handpicked for its warm welcome and great facilities.
Accommodation is shared with other Sport Lived participants and you’ll live together in plush 4-star city centre apartments. Optional Spanish classes will help you to learn or improve your Spanish and a Sport Lived mentor is on-hand 24/7 for support throughout your stay.

The Paraná river plays a central role in Rosario life. You’ll experience this first hand, training and competing on the water whilst regular club social events ensure you get the full Argentine experience!
Argentine boat clubs are large with many members and crews competing at a wide range of levels. Regattas and races take place regularly and involve competition against clubs across Argentina. The standard of facilities is excellent ensuring a high quality sporting experience.
Sport Lived work with only the most welcoming of sports clubs and we aim to ensure there are a number of English speakers. You’ll row alongside other Sport Lived participants and locals all of which ensure smooth integration into life at your club.
You will train at the boat club around 3 times per week alongside other Sport Lived participants and your new Argentine teammates. You’ll work both on the water and in the gym helping develop technique and fitness
Transport to and from your club for training sessions and matches is included in the price of all programmes to Argentina.
Your club will host regular social events such as meals, informal drinks and parties. You’ll have a great chance to meet lots of local Argentines and experience the fun of club sport first hand.
Argentina has produced some excellent rowing crews. A Sport Lived Experience is your chance to train and compete in this new rowing culture and the regular matches and training also help improve your speed and technique.
All aboard – get ready to take to the water in Argentina!
Accommodation is a central part of the Sport Lived experience. You’ll live in 4-star apartments in the heart Rosario, Argentina’s third city. Bars, clubs, restaurants and shops are all located close by there are plenty of exciting places to explore.
All programmes to Argentina include transport to and from your accommodation to training and matches via a shuttle bus.
Four star city centre apartmentsApartments are shared with other Sport Lived participants and include many mod cons. Each complex has a 24 hour reception and many have an in house swimming pool and gym. Apartments are fully furnished including a TV, linen, kitchen appliances, washing machines, etc. They are also serviced weekly (but you will have to wash your own undies!)

What better place to learn tango than the country where it was born? You’ll have a great time taking tango and salsa lessons at one of the best dance schools in Rosario. We will also arrange a visit to a Tango restaurant where you’ll enjoy dinner and show at "La casa del tango", a prestigious local restaurant that offers live music and tango shows.
Live the experience of being part of Argentina’s passionate football fans. You’ll watch either "Rosario Central" or "Newell's Old Boys" and sample a live match atmosphere first hand. After the match, we’ll celebrate victory or commiserate defeat with a typical Argentinean asado.
Immerse yourself in your new home Rosario by visiting the main points of interest that make up this vibrant city. You’ll visit Rosario’s different neighborhoods, see the beautiful parks, fairs, markets and cultural bars in the center of the city. After the visit, we’ll eat in one of the city’s characteristic grills and then show you around the best night spots in Rosario.
For young sports and nature lovers we have a combined activity of cycling along the coast visiting sites of interest, and then enjoying an unforgettable trip by kayak in the Paraná River and its islands.
A fun game of combat against your fellow participants!! You’ll do battle in a one hectare field full of artificial and natural obstacles where they try to hit their targets and achieve different goals. It includes complete equipment and experienced staff.
Enjoy a beautiful day on a river island. After crossing the broad Paraná River, we’ll explore one of the most attractive islands where you’ll enjoy a traditional "asado" (Argentine barbeque) lunch.
Living in Argentina is the ideal opportunity to learn or improve your Spanish. Sport Lived offer a range of courses for students of all levels – beginner, intermediate or advanced.
Our local language school is located close to your apartments and lessons are fun and interactive. You’ll receive around 8 hour’s tuition per week and there is an optional exam at the end of the course.
We thoroughly recommend taking a Spanish course. Speaking the local language will help you integrate quickly into Argentine life and get more out of your sports club. It will also prove useful should you wish to explore more of South America and enhances any CV.
Argentina’s party scene is legendary! You’ll be kept busy rowing and taking part in the range of activities but there is also plenty of time for fun...

Your Argentine boat club will be at the centre of your social life. Prepare for plenty of fun on and off the water! We try to ensure all clubs offer a vibrant social scene with regular events such as post-match drinks, parties and club dinners.

You will live alongside other Sport Lived participants who are playing a variety of sports in Argentina. This provides a ready made group of friends with whom you’ll explore life and your mentor is ready and waiting to show you Rosario’s local party scene.
UK citizens can obtain a 90 day tourist visa on arrival in Argentina. If your trip is likely to extend beyond 90 days, you will need apply for a visa extension. You can apply for an extension whilst in Argentina at the British embassy in Buenos Aires. All Sport Lived programmes to Argentina last for less than 90 days.

No worries (“No se preocupe”)! You’ll have a local mentor available throughout your stay who speaks fluent English and can help with any issues. We also make every effort to place participants with sports clubs where English is spoken by a number of members. In addition, you will be living and training with other Sport Lived participants.
We recommend that participants enroll on the optional Spanish courses. As well as being a fantastic addition to your CV, learning Spanish will enhance your experience in Argentina. Plus you’ll be able to chat-up the locals whilst out on the town.
The cost of all Sport Lived programmes to Argentina includes the following:
• 4-star accommodation including most household bills (telephone and internet charges are NOT covered)
• membership of your rowing club
• airport pick-up at the start of your programme
• mentor support throughout your stay
• a handbook with useful information
The programme cost does NOT include the following:
• flights, insurance, visas, return airport transfer, local transport or food
Your main costs whilst overseas will be transport, match/competition fees plus food and beer money. A cost of living guide for each Sport Lived destination is provided in the Need to Know section. This should help you plan and budget for your time away.
Absolutely not! We cater for rowers of all abilities. We will obtain further information on your sporting ability once you have submitted your booking form. This will allow us to match you with a suitable club. If you’re an elite rower, we’ll ensure you’re matched with a top-class club who know you’re serious about sport!
Once you have sent in a booking form, we’ll start working behind the scenes to put everything in place for the perfect programme. 3-4 weeks later you’ll receive a confirmation document outlining details of your club, key dates and an overview of your specific programme details.
Final payment for all programmes is due 12 weeks before to departure which allows us to finalise accommodation arrangements and send you details of your flatmates and your new address in Argentina!
The pre-departure briefing takes place around 8 weeks before you join us and provides a chance for you and your parents to meet up with the Sport Lived team and fellow participants and ask any remaining questions you may have.
