New Zealand is emerging as a strong rugby league nation as testified by the number of Kiwis playing for teams in the NRL and the British Super League. 

Our programmes are in Auckland where the majority of clubs are based.  We run a programme between March and August, where you’ll play for a club for an entire season.  We also run an 8 week programme during July and August, ideal for university students or those not taking a gap year.

We have affiliations with excellent clubs which have been carefully selected for their quality coaching, facilities and top social scenes!  The clubs have 4-5 senior men’s’ teams, they train 2-3 times a week and play matches at the weekends. All the clubs have several teams and can accommodate players of all abilities. 

In addition most clubs have large junior sections and we encourage all Sport Lived participants to get involved in coaching the juniors players at their club.  Coaching is lots of fun and a great way to develop key skills such as leadership, communication and organisational skills.

You will live in 4 star city centre apartments with Sport Lived participants providing a ready made group of friends as soon as you arrive.  Most people stay in 2 bedroom apartments and everyone lives in the same complex.  Living in the city means you’re near nightlife and numerous places where you can work.  It also means you’re near public transport making it easy to get to your club.
